Firefighters + Writing = FUN!

We are finishing up our unit on community in B2 this week. I wanted to provide the students with another opportunity for authentic writing. Since it is fire safety month, we took the opportunity to do some reading about firefighters and talk about how they keep a community safe. Then the kids wrote thank you letters to firefighters and I am going to drop them off at the fire station. A number of kids also thanked them for coming to support our Jog-A-Thon last Friday. It is super cool when you are in first grade to have a fire fighter run with you on the track!
